Gentleness

Father, You send me out like a sheep among wolves so I am to be wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove. I am careful not to break a battered person or put out a smoldering wick that was once on fire for You. I go out with a gentle and quite spirit which is precious in Your sight. I speak and act as one who will be judged under the law of liberty, so my words are filled with grace and seasoned with salt remembering that I was once disobedient, deceived and enslaved to the lusts of this world. I obey your command to speak to the rock and not beat it so that living water may flow out to all those who are thirsty. I am gentle with those who oppose the truth as a mother nurses her child in hopes that You will give them repentance leading them to the knowledge of the truth who is Jesus Christ, the Savior of our souls. In the name of Jesus who causes me to lie down in green pastures and leads me to still waters.

Scripture

Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. - Hebrews 10:22-25 KJV

Scripture

but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence; - 1 Peter 3:15 KJV

Scripture

What I tell you in the darkness, speak in the light; and what you hear whispered in your ear, proclaim upon the housetops. - Matthew 10:26-28 KJV
